The advantages of regular cycling need not be discussed as they are pretty obvious. It boosts your cardiovascular health, increases your endurance and strength levels, and makes your legs look a whole lot better. That said, you need to schedule out your cycling hours, and determine how often you do so. Which brings us to the question, which bike is better for cycling, a normal one or a stationary one?
A stationary bike is great because of the convenience it creates. It can fit in virtually any indoor space, and gives you the option of adjusting the resistance levels. It’s also very comfortable. A normal bike on the other hand gives you the advantage of difference terrain surfaces. You may also be able to adjust the resistance levels, and your mind doesn’t get bored because the environment around you is constantly changing. It can be uncomfortable, but that’s dependent on the kind of bike you buy in the first place.
Which is better between the two then? There’s no one answer for the question, but if you have a relatively free schedule, and have a nice cycling terrain, go for the normal bike. That’s because it is easier to cycle for longer on a normal bike than on a stationary one.
Bicycling or cycling is one of the oldest means of personal transportation. Over a century later, cycling is still very much appreciated, despite the creation of motorized engines. If a leaner weight is something that’s heavy on your mind, make cycling your new hobby. It involves your muscles, but it doesn’t make them grow. Rather, it makes them more resilient and much stronger. Best of all, it helps you loose any extra inches that you are packing around your midsection.
It doesn’t matter what you use, as long as you cycle. Stationary bikes are good as they give you the exercise you want without you having to tread outdoors. But if you are more adventurous, and are looking for something a little challenging, cycling outside is much better experience. When you get different terrains, you work your muscles harder. This is good as it means you are losing more fat in the process.
Other advantages of cycling include boosting your immunity, and generally having a better feeling of health. You also reduce your stress levels when you are cycling. It’s something you can do everyday, with optimal results being achieved with just 30 minutes of serious cycling, regardless of whether it’s a stationary bike or not.
CYCLING ANALYSIS
30/10/11
Time for you to take some rest after a well scheduled cycling season. But, this does not mean to put away your cycle until the date of next cycling season. It just means that you should slow down your practice. You can now cherish other activities of athletics, skating, swimming, etc. You have sufficient free time for your family and friends, which was partly neglected due to your scheduled cycling sessions. This time you can appraise your performance for the next season. This is very essential as you can set your aims and set your training regime for the future cycling season. For your better performance, you should honestly follow the five points:
1. Achievement of Goals – Have analyzed goals, i.e. measured, relevant, specified, achievable, and timed. Try and examine how it is possible to examine them in the upcoming cycling season.
2. Not Achieved Goals – It is not necessary that you will achieve all the goals at a time. You may not achieve some goals, but try to find out the reason behind it and not get discouraged. Always keep in mind there is a chance waiting for you.
3. Strengths in you – Try to use your biggest physiological strength such as neuromuscular power, anaerobic capacity, muscular power, etc. during cycling.
4. Weakness – Weakness is also an important factor which should be taken into consideration. Your weakness can create problems in your way towards success. You should know how to overcome them so that they don’t harm you.
5. Personal opinion – Analyze your own performance on your own grounds and honestly rate yourself so that it can help you in improving for the next cycling season.

After a much hectic cycling season, it is time for you to take some well-deserved rest. That does not mean you can simply put your cycle away and rest until the next cycling season. It simply means you can take it easy. Enjoy other activities like swimming, running, skating, hiking etc. You can also enjoy your time with your family since you couldn’t do so during the training session. You can evaluate your performance during this time. This is important so that you can set your goals and design a training regimen for your next season. For performance assessment, there are five points you must consider honestly.
1. Goals achieved- Have SMART goals, i.e. specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound goals. Try and analyse how you achieved these in the cycling season.
2. Goals not achieved- It is normal that while you may achieve easily some goals, you need not achieve all the goals. Do not be discouraged as there is a next time always. However, think why you could not achieve some goals.
3. Your biggest strengths- Think what the biggest strength was for you in terms of your physiological abilities such as muscular, aerobic endurance, neuromuscular power, lactate threshold, anaerobic capacity, aerobic capacity etc during cycling.
4. Significant weakness- This is also an important aspect as you must know where you fell short in terms of your ability to achieve the goals. Once you know the weakness, you can work on it slowly, yourself.
5. Your opinion- Analyze yourself on an overall basis and honestly rate yourself on your performance, in the recent cycling season. This helps you improve in the next season.
